Balls
Every game needs the right ball. Shop indoor volleyballs for the gym, beach volleyballs for the sand, and softer training balls for beginners and drills - from Mikasa, Baden and more.
Not sure which one? Match it to where you play and the age level; adult play uses a size 5, while younger players often use lighter or size-4 balls
Indoor balls are made of leather (or composite for training), molded, and slightly heavier for fast, hard-hit plays on a hard court, while beach volleyballs are stitched, a bit bigger, softer and lighter so they float better and hold up to sun, sand and moisture.
It's not recommended for competitive play - the weight and material differences change how the ball moves and reacts to contact, so a beach ball will feel too floaty indoors while an indoor ball won't perform the same in outdoor conditions.
Training balls (like the Mikasa V300WATTR with elastic cords) are designed for solo skill drills such as setting or serving practice, rather than match play - they're built to help develop technique, not to replace a certified game ball.
Most Canadian clubs play with a size-5 official ball from Mikasa or Baden; confirm the exact model your league requires. Practising? A training ball is easier on the arms.
Regulation adult balls are size 5; some younger age groups use lighter or size-4 balls - check the listing before you buy.
